I used to dog a bag of White Castle sliders when I used to live in Chicago on a regular basis every weekend after hitting up the bars and to be quite honest, I do miss those little meaty-oniony, soft bastards. Not any longer though. Krystal is as close to a White Castle burger (sliders) as anyone in South Florida will get. Their so darn close that I'm on the verge of stating that they are WC with a different name. But, from my last visit at the Krystal in Ft. Lauderdale, I did notice that there are some new items that I never saw, nor did I ever think I would see, at a White Castle. To begin with, Krystal's menu has way more variety than a WC; from hot dogs, a wide variety of sides; from grits to salads, regular sized Angus burgers, breakfast items (check out their scramlers!) and, their newest item on the menu, buffalo wings available in 4 different flavors! The last time I ate at a WC's was late last year on a weekend trip to Chicago and, I must admit, I didn't really notice that much change in WC's menu. To Krystal's credit, they do a fairly good job at providing a decent slider. BUT, every little slider burger I eat will undoubtly be gauged and compared against a White Castle burger. However, Krystal definitely has a much wider and broader selection for the more picky eater. PRO: Taste just like White Castle, free Wi-fi, open until 1 am on Fri & Sat. CON: Neighborhood is a little iffy.

Really greasy... I think the mini burgers needed ketchup or something to make them edible. The chili cheese fries were pretty good though. Nothing like White castles except for the size of the burger. I miss white castles...

I wanted to try this place because I watched White Castle and living in south florida I knew I wasn't going to go there so why not settle for the next best thing. BIG MISTAKE. I went to go satisfy my curiosity and had the #1 sliders with cheese fries and a coke. The coke was good. The fries were ok, taste like KFC fries. Finally the sliders. They are sure made with onions but that doesn't make them taste oh so great. Overall it wasn't good, but it was edible. I have a horrible burp now though

Krystal sliders are a major weakness of mine. Whenever I find myself in the south-east area of the country, I seek them out, almost subconsciously, until I've had my fill and feel sick. I admit it's a problem, and I'm seeking treatment. Luckily I don't live anywhere close to one of these and thus, it is not hard to avoid them. And the fries are also somehow really, really good here, even though it's fast food. But yeah, love this place, mass-produced sliders done right.

Driving home from our beach weekend, I saw a billboard advertising this place. And like the true foodies we are, my hubby and I were totally game to try out the mini burgers thinking we could relive those White Castle trips in NYC. The burgers did not even come close - they were bland and disguised with a thick bun and mustard to help with the taste. Additionally, the patties were paper thin, and I barely got any of those yummy chopped up onions - what up with that?! So, in other words, don't waste your time. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

When I was told they were like White Castle I had to fill my curiosity, eliminate the mustard, extra onions and I was impressed , if they came in a White Castle box I would swear they were the same! They definitely are close if not the same.

Totally awesome experience! I would love to recommend the krystal burgers. I know that it just looks like a normal burger but trust me, this one is really good. That 200% pure beef patty, this burger is really perfect. Would love to come back again.

If you are a fan of White Castle burgers then you will love Krystal's!!!!! I live in the Margate/Coral Springs area and I will drive all the way into Fort Lauderdale just to patronize this restaurant. Yes, it is in a very unsavory area but who cares, the food is awesome!!!! There used to be a fast food restaurant in Deerfield Beach called The Lil Red Caboose and they also sold little square mini burgers like White Castle's too but unfortunately for some reason they closed down. I was soooo disappointed because that restaurant was close to my job and closer to my home. Oh well....what's a gal to do now??? Drive all the way to Krystal's of course!!!! Another great thing on their menu is the Krystal Chiks, the mini chicken sandwhiches. Their french fries look very plain but are super good and tasty!!! Check out this restaurant on the corner of Powerline Road & Sunrise Blvd....:-)

One of my favorite burger joints, kind of upset that I have to drive all the way to Broward/Ft. Lauderdale to get to one. Every time I take my kids, I order those little burgers, little chicken, mini chili cheese hot dogs and they're very yummy fries. They have also for dessert small cinnamon fried doughnuts. Prices are always reasonable and you get alot for a buck. If you up for a drive and want to have the closest thing to a White Castle, I highly recommend Krystal.

THERE'S A KRYSTAL IN SOUTH FLORIDA!! THERE'S A KRYSTAL IN SOUTH FLORIDA!! THERE'S A KRYSTAL IN SOUTH FLORIDA!! No, seriously. There is a Krystal in South Florida. I saw the sign on I95 as I was driving Southbound, and cut across 3 lanes of traffic to exit on Sunrise. (So basically, I fit right in on I95.) It was about 10am... but HOLY CRAP, It's KRYSTAL! About a Mile east through some choice 'Hood, you'll find it on the left. Kinda hidden. Kinda Sketch. But SO WHAT? IT'S KRYSTAL! (I'm seeing a pattern here.) Those of you who are not familiar with the White Castle / Krystal Concept may just not get it. If you're expecting some sort of Hipster, Fast-Casual, Grass-Fed beef, please keep on driving. But these sliders? Steamed Buns, two-biters, grilled onions, pickles and mustard. Like their Northern Kin, White Castle, they're irresistible little stomach bombs. YUM! I've heard stories from both sides of the Mason-Dixon of people filling a bag with 20 sliders and "noshing" on them in the car. I can easily picture that. In fact, we made friends with another customer who told us these are his Go-To when he's craving the White Castle style slider of his New York homeland. Yes!! Family, Baby!! Krystal Burgers are absolutely perfect, because they don't try to be anything else.

I ordered a chicken salad and it was delicious. The chicken was actually crispy and not soggy. My bf got the sampler to try one of everything. The food is soooo tiny. Im not complaining because they were my portion size haha, but my bf was still hungry even after all those orders. The chili dog was really good and.anything with chicken was good. Only thing is, this is in the ghetto...a lot of homeless people walking im and out trying to get soda,.restroom and food. I was only in there 20 minutes and at least 6 homeless people or drug addicts came in being really loud. The employees knew them all by name. When I got back to my hotel the valet laughed really hard and yelled to another valet where I went and they were shocked I whent "into the ghetto". It was good fast food! Just wish it was in a different location I guess? And order more food that you think you can eat, youll be able to eat it.

Alright, I GET Krystal burger. This place is like the White Castle of the South. It has a unique flavor not found at your average national fast-food burger chain. We were driving down I-95 and my wife saw the sign for Krystal burger at the Sunrise exit and immediately cut across the freeway all the way from the far left lane just to make the exit. Yeah, that's how my baby rolls. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her Krystal burger and it had been a year since she last had one in Orlando so it was like discovering an oasis in the desert. We also made sure to stop by for a return visit on our way to the airport. Have to admit, the tasty little slider on the soft squishy bun was noms and hit the spot for an afternoon nosh. It's easy to see how fans of White Castle would come here and binge on these. I'm even jonesing for one as I write this. We sure don't have anything like Krystal back home in Colorado. The place is ghetto for sure but it shines like Krystal.

My boyfriend is from New York and loves White Castle burgers. Krystal's is the closest he can get and we found one here in South Florida. I didn't want to blow his little bubble but I noticed this place has serious management issues upon arriving. The floors looked as if they hadn't been mopped in weeks. They staff- ugh, don't even get me started. The cashier had no idea how to ring up an order and kept cussing and yelling at her co-workers to help. What's even worse, her manager was right there and just laughed at her. She finally figured it out and began taking both the orders from us inside and the drive thru- at the same time- so you never really knew when she was actually talking to you. We finally got our order and the burgers were mehhhh. They could have been a lot better if the buns weren't soggy due to being smothered in onion water and if hobos weren't walking in and out while we ate. I didn't really enjoy it at all.

Less than mediocre sliders and greasy pale patties, Krystal seemed as close to a White Castle as I could get, but left me with a bit of a tummy ache. Service was friendly, so you get a star.

About once every six to eight months I get a craving for those tiny, one bite, mini burgers made by Krystal. Flat grilled with onions and served on a fresh steamed bun with a pickle and mustard. The closest outlet used to be just off I95 at Daytona Beach and in past years I always stopped there to savor the aroma of these little jewels and gulp down a few (if 6, 7 or 8 can be called a few.) But I don't have too wait for that three hour trip anymore now that there is a Krystal on Sunrise in Ft. Lauderdale. I dropped in a few weeks ago after a seven month hiatus and sampled a half-dozen of these tasty burgers. They were good, but didn't satisfy me as they have in the past. The meat seemed smaller (could it be?) and greyer than before, the buns not as soft, and the dollop of mustard was replaced with a dot. The pickle seems to have survived. If you've never had them it can be a unique experience. If you have had them in the past, you are likely going to be disappointed. This place is good for a snack, but you wouldn't want dinner here! The best thing about these burgers is the fabulous aroma. What do you think? Tell me on my blog.

I am glad that there is a Krystal in South Florida. Their burgers are not as good as a White Castle, but they are tasty. I requested the special "Touchdown Combo" of three Krystal burgers and three chicken wings. The promotion in the restaurant did not say anything about "spicy" but those wings were on fire. I told the manager that I would not eat them. To his credit, he offered me three more burgers and I was happy to take them. I asked for my burgers (all six of them) without mustard, but they came with mustard and I had to wipe the mustard off with napkins. They threw in an extra burger (somewhere along the line). I was happy to eat seven burgers, after taking off the mustard. Well, no restaurant is perfect. I was pretty happy with my Krystal meal. Looking forward to a return to White Castle though.
